AGENDA

What is

 TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@AlFaseelRoad, where x = independently organized TED event.

At our TEDxYouth@AlFaseelRoad event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

About

TEDx

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world's leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman.

The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED's media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; the Open Translation Project, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established the annual TED Prize, where exceptional individuals with a wish to change the world get help translating their wishes into action; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.

What is a TEDx Event?

A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and videos previously recorded at TED conferences are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all of them have features in common.

All TEDx events present multiple issues and a diversity of voices from many disciplines. After all, what’s the fun without a little variety?A TEDx event is organized by volunteers from the local community, and just like TED events, it lacks any commercial, religious or political agenda. Its goal is to spark conversation, connection and community.

Our Event  Theme

We have chosen the theme "Beyond the Boundaries” because at our event we want to create a platform welcoming everyone regardless of their background or what they believe in. It emphasizes on the idea that boundaries often created by society should not limit you, in fact you should hold the power and courage to believe in yourself to push forward and go beyond these boundaries. At some point we all come across an exciting opportunity, a new path that might scare us but it’s up to us to push ahead past what’s pulling us back, let go of our inhibitions, and go conquer whatever it is that’s waiting for us. It’s time to buckle up, unleash our inner talents and make all those pending chalked out plans happen.

Although, all people are talented in different ways, but most of them are hidden and closed to themselves, no contribution to this life while some others stay eternal because of their contributions to humanity.  The reason why we have two such different categories of people lies in the person’s message that he holds that doesn’t let him rest until he has achieved beyond all boundaries that he could imagine.  It's about continuing the message to keep humanity surviving and flourishing; it’s an eternal message.

Dr. Ossama Embarak holds a Ph.D. in computer and information science from the Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, UK. He has more than 2 decades of teaching and research experience.

A school is an institution designed to provide learning spaces and learning environments for the teaching of students under the direction of teachers.” School and the entirety of the Education system is based on the process of nurturing children and preparing them for adulthood. But does it really? If it does then why is the student suicide rate so high? Has education become a business monopoly rather than a support system for kids to achieve their dreams? Should the worth of a child be defined by their report cards? Why do students hate school? And finally, who is School really for?
